Personal Inventory

In this short video I introduce the three items/categories of items that show where I’m at in my current lifestyle. These items are important in my life because they either possess special meaning to me or certain utilitarian qualities that make my life completely different without them.
The first one of my inventory is my Alienware PC. In today’s digital age, electronic devices seem to be closely tied to everyone’s life. For me, a computer like this is especially significant due to the nature of my major (integrated digital media) and my personal interests. I use this computer daily to complete tasks such as coding, designing, drawing and writing. I also use it to play, discover, and make games. My favourite game at the moment is Overwatch, and one of my biggest goals is to work at the company that made this game, Blizzard.
The second category of items from my inventory are my plant friends. I only have three of them, but the little bit of greenness that they provide me bring me a sense of relaxation and warmth in this busy concrete jungle of urban life. Since I’m an international student and I love travelling, it’s quite difficult for me to keep plants alive. I adopted three basil plants on Earth Day from two years ago but now only one of them is still alive. The Aloe Vera plant is the most special one -- it used to be my grandma’s favourite plant before she passed away. She loved reading a book that discussed the wide usages of Aloe Vera and whenever I scraped my knee or burned my finger when I was little, she would always use Aloe Vera to cure my wounds. Therefore, the Aloe Vera plant somehow became a tradition in my family and no matter where I moved, I would always keep one in my room. Whenever I saw it, I would feel safe and nostalgic.
The final items are my riding boots and helmet I use when I do horseback riding. These are perhaps the most important protective gear for a rider, but they also have a special place in my heart because they accompany me through every practice and competition. I started riding when I was younger but it was not until Sophomore year when I really started English Hunter Equestrian. I never really liked any sports but horseback riding is something I’m passionate about. Whenever I see these items, I think of all the effort I’ve put into this sport, and no matter how hard or painful it is sometimes, I will always learn from my failures and improve.
