Mariam Oke:
Mariam’s inventory consists of her shoes, her camera, and a painting. When I heard her story of the shoes, I instantly felt empathized. I am also a person who has a hard time letting go of old things, because whenever I see these things, I think of all the memories associated with them. I think even the camera is also showing a similar concept in that the camera records moments and you can look at these photos as if you capture the past. At last, Mariam’s painting revealed the artistic and organized side of her and I really love the color combinations of it!
Yuming Lu:
Yuming’s personal inventory inspired me because of how neat, colorful and diverse her collections were. When I saw her flipping her travel notebook that collects meaningful pieces and words during her trips, it reminded me that I have a notebook of similar functions. However, I stopped using it a few years ago, but seeing Yuming’s inventory made me open it again. It’s filled with memories that I cherish and feelings I had when I visited different places. I admire Yuming’s way of collecting memories, and because of her inventory, I think she would be a fun and creative friend to travel with.
Gina Chee:
Gina’s personal inventory is super interesting and unique. First of all, I loved her drawing style and her sketchbook, I also have a sketchbook and I draw too. Gina’s eyeliner is very unique because when I saw it, I thought to myself “her eye makeup is truly a signature part of her”. Her last item, the little seal reminded me of my little teddy bear that I brought with me to New York. Similar to Gina, whenever I see my bear, I think of memories related to my home.
