Anne's thoughtful speech about human centered design left me ponder deeply. One of the most important points that I learned from the speech is that essentially, design thinking begins with gaining empathy for the users that you are designing for. I think the fact that design exists is to discover and develop a methodology to help humans live/function better, therefore it's intuitive to consider about the users of a design. However, being empathetic and taking a holistic perspective are easy to say but hard to achieve. When one designs, he/she tends to think of others in his/her own mind. The design that comes out finally may not be actually suitable for the users that want to utilize it. At this point, it's important to also communicate and collaborate with others in the design process because more people can bring a more complete view of the design.
